BARTLETT HIGH SCHOOL -- Bartlett High’s DDF Bears traveled out of Anchorage for the first time in 12 years for the state tournament. This year, the event was held in Juneau Feb. 13-15.

Though they didn’t have the finish they expected, all members agreed that they had a good time and it was a good experience.

Sharon Jenkins made it to her semifinals round in Original Oratory, a speech she wrote and memorized on her own.

Coach Maria Skala said she's not disappointed. She believes that although no one placed, everyone worked hard and she’s hoping for the best next year.

Because of it being the first time the circuit has traveled in more than 10 years, everyone made it into the Juneau newspaper.

For more information on joining DDF, you can find Mrs. Skala in her classroom 206.
