BARTLETT HIGH SCHOOL – Over the past weekend, the Bartlett High JROTC team competed in their state competition Saturday, the 22 at Service High School. They competed in four different events: Color Guard, Under Arm Regulations, LET 1 Color Guard and First Guard Exhibition. JROTC instructor Donald Ramey said the teams were a bit nervous going into the competition, but overall, it went well.
The team placed in each of the four events: eleventh in the Color Guard competition, eighth place in Under Arm Regulations, tenth place in LET 1 Color Guard, and their overfall best finish, third in Exhibition.
Ramey added that the teams seemed a little nervous and even joked that the students blamed their finishes on missing two practices.
“The nerves and tensions the kids had lead to mistakes that they plan to perfect in the future,” Ramey said.
